Important Updates From WidgetBucks
It has been a while since I last told you about WidgetBucks and now is a good time to do an update since I got an email from the WidgetBucks team. One very common complains about WidgetBucks I’ve come across since its launch is the slow loading time of the ad widgets. The WB team had been listening and had addressed this issue by rolling out new code that promises to deliver faster loading widgets.
For the speedier widgets load times to take affect on your sites or blogs, you will need to update code of your existing widgets. Log into your WB Dashboard and go to My Widgets to edit each active widget. Simply re-copy the code block into your sites or blogs (the same steps you went through when you created the widgets originally). You can put your mind at ease knowing that changing the code will not impact earnings for any of your existing active widgets.
Another option for updating code is to utilize the new categories and ad sizes WB incorporated over the last few weeks. Modifying a widget’s size or category — or creating an entirely new widget for that matter — will generate the new code that can then be re-copied to your sites or blogs.
Eleven new categories had been incorporated into WidgetBucks and live examples of the 2 new ad sizes, “blog sidebar 160×300″ and “skyscraper 120×600″, can be seen below. In their bid to continuously upgrade their service to bring you the best user experience, more creative options are in the works and will be roll out pretty soon.
In addition, WidgetBucks updated their program policies to no longer approve or accept non-English language sites into the WidgetBucks ad network. This is due to the consistently low conversion rate that the majority of non-English language sites are delivering. As WB’s merchants and advertisers are predominantly based in the U.S., this policy update is skewed towards delivering quality traffic that has the highest likelihood of conversion to sale and shouldn’t come as a surprise.
