How To Survive The Holiday Season

This article is part of How2Blogger’s Super Sexy Holiday ‘How To’ Contestwhich you can see at How2Blogger’s ‘How To’ site.
Wearing the many hats of a blogger is tough at the best of times. It can be even more challenging balancing the additional demands of family, work, and holiday events, and still maintain the sanity to churn out quality content during this period. If unprepared, one can easily get caught in a relentless cycle – finishing each day with more tasks piled up and incomplete than when you started in the morning.
Whether you are earning a living online running various websites, doing freelance writing, or just blogging for fun, here are 6 holiday survival tips to help you cope with your blogging venture, stay healthy, energized and focused and still have fun during this holiday season.
Stay Focus
Your daily work routine may have been disrupted due to your running around shopping for those gifts on the gift lists, spring cleaning, setting up the decorations and thousands of other things to do before Christmas. Nevertheless, you need to stay focus, plan your day, prioritized tasks in advance, and take a few minutes each day to reflect on the ultimate goal of your blog or online business.
Set Priorities
Be firm and clear about the tasks you want to accomplish each day. Prioritize them and then complete them in order of importance, resisting any temptation to skip or postpone any task scheduled.
Create To-do list
Create a daily to-do lists which should tie in with the above point of setting priorities. At the end of each day, review those accomplished tasks and set aside time to celebrate your achievements, however small you think those tasks are. In case some scheduled tasks are incomplete, learn from the mistakes made, and improve on the situation.
Optimize Optimism
Like I mentioned, celebrate small successes and learn from mistakes made. Turn your attention to things that have gone well, rather than sulk at circumstances (beyond your control) which do not turned out as planned. Life is full of unavoidable screw-ups and shit happens without warning and without reason, and it is how you respond to them that define our character. I know it is such a cliché, but always try to see the glass as half-full rather than half-empty.
Realistically Limited
Whether you like it or not, everyone of us have only 24 hours a day. That is but one of the many limitations in our lives that we have no control over. Therefore, recognize your limits, be realistic and don’t scheduled too many tasks to be accomplished into a day. Even better, make concession for unexpected interruptions and/or emergencies.
Mind Your Body
The tendency to load up your plate with scrumptious holiday fare and over-indulge in festive merry-making is just too great. Enjoy yourself but don’t over-indulge. Resolve to take care of your body, not abuse it. Get enough sleep, do some light exercises to relieve tension. Meditation and deep breathing helps beat the stress too!
Follow the above few survival tips to help yourself navigate and survive the trappings of the festive period and emerge unscathed. Now go have yourself a Merry little X’mas!

haha thank you for reminding me about minding the body.
Take care.
