Vote For A Winner
There is a friendly competition going on now between Winning The Web and TylerCruz dot com. After reading the contest post on both competing blogs, I still can’t figure out what the competition is about and what readers are voting for. Mr Popularity? Mr Web savvy? I don’t have a clue. When we cast a vote, we either vote for a President, the high school promp queen, or even American Idol. But in the case of this contest, both candidates somehow neglected to address this point.
Nevetheless, knowing what vote we are casting for isn’t the point as voters for the eventual winner stands to win one of three $100 prizes. For all I care, that is the whole point of this contest! Who should I vote for then?
TylerCruz dot com has been around the blogosphere much longer and Tyler is like your friendly boy-next-door marketer, what with his uniquely recognizable logo and friendly writing style. Whereas Gyutae Park is a new face in the Internet Marketing blogging community and is akin to the evil marketer with his aggressive marketing of Winning The Web and many guerilla marketing tactics up his sleeve.
In terms of web ranking, traffic stats and RSS subscriber base, Tyler Cruz wins hands-down but in terms of short term marketing effectiveness, I would say Park wins the accolades with his explosive emergence on the blogging scene.
Winning The Web rise to prominence in a very short space of time with his recently concluded marketing campaigns which included reviews by John Chow and John Cow, banner ads and contests. In just 2 weeks, Winning the Web gained over 225 subscribers, 400+ comments, and a 500% increase in traffic. All these stats were achieved at the expense of a cool 1.6k+ in advertising dollars.
To solicit for votes, Park is giving away a Winning The Web T-shirt to the first 50 people who vote for WTW and 100 EntreCard credits to the next 10 voters. Even with his aggressive marketing styles, Park did not forget to apply the personal touch. He actually emailed me for support in this competition, and T-shirt or no T-shirt, I’ll cast my vote for Winning The Web by virtue of Park’s personal touch.

BOO!!!! I voted for Tyler! Shame on you;)
Oops! I see the friendly competition between Tyler and Park has spilled over to this blog.
Tsk tsk tsk…
LOL!! Sorry Tyler, may the best man wins!
Hey there, thanks for the vote!
Hey Park, you are welcome!
May the best man wins!
