Hello folks! We are back in this weekly review post and I’ve renamed it as Super Sunday Tipoffs (SST) in this new year. As before, I’ll post summaries of interesting blog posts I found around the blogosphere so that you can be tip off to great content. In additional, I’ll wrap up every SST with a funny or interesting video. Here goes the first SST edition of 2008:
Plagued by a nightmare before Christmas, my New Year didn’t start off with a bang, at least from a blogging perspective, so I’m determine to play catch up and make up for lost time. While I was picking up the pieces and on the road to recovery (blog restorations), I submitted my first ever guest post to the very popular How2Blogger dot com.
Losing our blogging mojo is probably an event no bloggers ever want to go through. However, it is one unavoidable inevitable in our blogging endeavor. My friend Derek of Derek Semmler dot com reckon he had hit the blogging wall at full force as he is experiencing issues with time and motivation to blog. Derek could be suffering from post-holidays blues and I’m sure he’ll breakdown the wall in no time, shake off the lethargy and charge on to blogging glory.
In these days and age, don’t be surprise sex discrimination still exist in our modern day offices. Sad but true, technology had advanced in leaps and bounds but human evolutions lack far behind. Read how my friend Beth was “let go, not fired” in her tech job and how she seek refuge from the pain by listing 10 ways to seek revenge on a male boss. Although those tips are meant to be used by female employee on a male boss, some of them are pretty unisexual and may be applied on a female boss too!
Contest Blogger is kicking off the new year by giving away $100 to a lucky reader. All you have to do is link back to the homepage in a post or the sidebar with anchor text “sweepstakes”. The winner will be randomly drawn on 1st Feb. Check this post for entry details.
Here’s a video of a retro video game I’ve played since my childhood.
There is a friendly competition going on now between Winning The Web and TylerCruz dot com. After reading the contest post on both competing blogs, I still can’t figure out what the competition is about and what readers are voting for. Mr Popularity? Mr Web savvy? I don’t have a clue. When we cast a vote, we either vote for a President, the high school promp queen, or even American Idol. But in the case of this contest, both candidates somehow neglected to address this point.
Nevetheless, knowing what vote we are casting for isn’t the point as voters for the eventual winner stands to win one of three $100 prizes. For all I care, that is the whole point of this contest! Who should I vote for then? Read the rest of this entry »
Since my nightmare before Christmas happened, I missed out on a lot of festive goodies and that includes many blog contests which offered some great prizes as bloggers came out in force and pulled out all stops to celebrate the year-end festivities.
Now that my blog is back online, I’m on the lookout for blog contests to enter and what better way to start the New Year than to enter a contest to win an iPhone?

On this day, the 12th day of Christmas, I want to dedicate this post to a special friend – Jay of Online Opportunity, who had played a huge part in helping restore this blog, thus helping end my nightmare.
Hello friends! I’m back online, finally! Those of you who have been wondering where I had gone missing in action for the past two weeks had one hell of a story to hear from me. Those of you who had emailed me (you know who you are) to enquire about my blog, I appreciate your concern and thank you for your encouraging words.
The Nightmare
Year 2007 ended on a sour note when I came home on Christmas Eve from a short weekend getaway and discovered the blog was down. It had suffered an outage through no fault of mine. The blog was hosted with a reseller so the first instinct was to contact him to clarify the situation. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get a respond from him and no light was shed on the outage. I then emailed technical support of the hosting company and was told within a couple of hours that the outage was due to the reseller’s domain name expired. They further explained that as my blog was being hosted with that reseller’s account, they couldn’t do anything to help me without written consent from him. OMG!! I was tearing my hair out, and over-whelmed with feeling of helplessness.
(You can imagine how frustrated I was at this point and the stress of losing all my content is weighing down on me constantly) Read the rest of this entry »
