iPhone 3G is Coming

While the rest of the world (actually just 22 countries) were either still queuing up or already going crazy with their finger print smudges all over their new iPhone 3G, I can only look on with geeky envy as this coveted device will only make its debut here at the end of the year.

In the meantime, I’ll have to be contented that Life is Good and can only console myself by making a reservation of the iPhone 3G with the local telco, Singtel.

Engadget posted the only iPhone 3G review you need to read.

Don’t get too upset though…by the time you get one, they will have all the unexpected bugs and quirks worked out!

That seems to be the only positive upside of not being an early adopter.

Maybe they will be a little cheaper by then too?

The official price plans have not been release by the telco yet, but I’m not expecting it to be cheaper than current price in and around this region when it is eventually release.

You see, the original iPhone wasn’t available here, hence, there’s so much pent-up demand for this gadget that the telco will surely milk every cents possible out of its glorious debut.

Another point to add is although the local market is small, but we do have lots of early adopters to mobile technology.

[...] Tens of thousands of iPhone 3G reservations had been made (including mine) on the Singtel website, and priority will go to those of us who had made reservations. The nail-biting wait is nearly over as the official launch is just days away! I can’t contain my excitement! After such a long wait, it felt surreal just to say this, “The iPhone 3G is finally coming to Singapore!” [...]
