What is RevResponse?
RevResponse is a new B2B Performance Based Publisher Network operated by NetLine Corporation. RevResponse pitches itself as being an alternative or addition to CPM and CPC advertising. Instead of waiting and hoping readers of your blog click on an ad, so that you earn a few cents per click, publishers of RevResponse make money by giving away FREE business resources, trade publications, white papers and podcasts covering more than 30 industries.
What Promotional Tools Are Available?
You can use standard banner ads or a variety of customized widgets on your websites, blogs and even email to promote the free offers and generate leads. You can also create custom text for inclusion in RSS feeds. Here is a sample of the flash widget you can embed on your blogs.
One unique promotional tool which will be given to you when you are approved as a publisher, is a co-branded site, which is where your visitors can browse and download their FREE giveaways. One new feature which is still in beta, you can edit the default Tradepub that were given to you when you joined the program.
How much and how do publishers earn?
Payouts per qualified signup are a minimum of $1.50 per qualified offer with “typical” payouts ranging from $2.00 to $20.00 per action.This is a lot higher than what most publisher networks offer. The minimum payout is $50 with payment options by cheque or paypal, and payments are made 45 days after the end of the month in which the revenue is generated.
RevResponse also has a referral program which you can take advantage of the great earning potential. When you refer new publishers to RevResponse, you will be paid 20% of the earnings that your referral partners generate for the first 6 months of their partnership!
Conclusion

I just wanted to jump in and answer your question.
Basically the publishers need a certain number of subscribers so in return they can charge their advertisers a specific amount. It’s worth it to them to give you the magazine for free because you have a genuine need for the information and products described therein. Advertisers need a vehicle to deliver their message to you which justifies spending advertising dollars to give subscriptions for free.

I was able to get a technical white paper I can use for the classes I’m teaching this fall, so it’s really a win/win situation.
For the white papers, I’m sure they’re hoping that you’ll be in a position to buy some the product they’re describing, but you still get the white paper even if you’re just curious.
