You know how time really flies when you are having so much fun doing something you enjoy. And it seems only yesterday (ok, maybe longer) that I was getting a hangover from the raunchiest blog party and now we’ve come full circle and this blog had reached a milestone.
I want to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to everybody who had visited, commented, subscribed, inspired and supported my blog throughout the past 12 months. Without your active participation and kind support, my blogging journey wouldn’t be so fun and colorful. It had been a journey littered with triumphant highs and nightmarish lows, and many valuable lessons learnt.
If the official opening one-year back marked the successful transition from a blogspot blog to self-hosted wordpress blog, then this First Anniversary blogging on Wordpress will celebrate the bonds and friendships that were forged in this community.
For those who had just joined this party, may I suggest you to check out my About page to see the face behind this blog and find out how my online alter ego was created, or have a good laugh at these interesting facts about the man behind Betshopboy.net
I’d like to thank each and everyone of you for being a part of this community and I look forward to celebrating more blog birthdays with all of you.
A week has past since the first weekly prize winners were announced, I’m here to announce the second weekly prize winners for my First Anniversary Blog contest. Congrats to all winners, you will be contacted via email for details to claim your prize.
If you are reading this but have yet to submit your entries, you have slightly less than a week to enter and qualify for the Grand prize draw – a brand new Creative Zen MP3 player and a 125×125 ad spot on my sidebar for September. If you want to stand a chance to win some fabulous prizes, you will want to check out my First Anniversary Blog contest. May lady luck be with you.
The long wait is finally over, the iPhone 3G has finally reach our shores. At 12.01am this morning, Singtel launched the much coveted phone at its Comcentre headquarters amidst rather toned down and much controlled fanfare.
Unlike iPhone 3G launches elsewhere, which saw fans queue up for days beforehand, the first official iPhone 3G user in Singapore only had to queue for about 12 hours when he was the first to arrive yesterday at the queue line at 12.45pm. At 10pm last night, two hours before the launch, there was, according to SingTel – 81 in the queue – an anti-climax to say the least.
SingTel’s launch of the iPhone 3G was by reservation-only, meaning, if you had gatecrash the party uninvited, you won’t get the iPhone, no matter how early you came. Those burly man in tight-fitting “Security” shirts, which probably numbered more than the number of customers, will come after you so fast to hurl you out before you can say “iPhone 3G”! As I wasn’t invited to this “history-making” event, I’m not going to risk my life and limbs and I apologize I wasn’t able to bring you photos and videos of the launch.
Perhaps, the event was too well managed, to the point that the spontaneity and buzz that is expected of such events was missing. It was Uniquely Singapore indeed!
Those of you who has been on Twitter long enough would have at one time or another been hit by the “Twitter is down” message. Downtime has become par for the course for Twitter during big news events. Nobody, and I mean absolutely nobody can escape being caught in this technical mishap. Even the Third Reich got hit by this Twitter woes!
Anyone who thinks they are too cool to use Twitter can leave.
That is the funniest video parody I’ve seen in a long time, I was laughing so hard, it had me in stitches! I don’t speak Germans and don’t understand what was being said, then again I don’t Twitt in Germans. Just take note of the subtitle, the message was absolutely spot on!
I’ve stayed in my present home for close to ten years and minor but visible wears and tears are starting to develop. I guess it is as good a time as any to embark on a small scale home improvement project of my own.
The existing lights and lighting fixtures have served us well for the first few years but have been giving us regular functional problems recently. Furthermore, their designs are quite old-fashioned and outdated. I’m going focus on changing my home lightings for this home improvement project.
Recalling my buying experience in home lighting makes me cringe even after so many years. Devoid of ideas and expert-advice, we had to practically scour every individual lighting shop to find, select, compare prices and finally buy the lightings for our home. That was a tough workout and we were deadbeat at the end of the harrowing experience. And we haven’t even engaged an electrician who can install the lightings!
Fast forward ten years and things are so much different now. You know times are a changing when you are able to search, select, and compare lightings most suitable for your new dream home at the comfort of your house with the click of a mouse.
At Littman Bros. dot com, they have a comprehensive online showroom where you can get access to a wide range of lights including chandeliers, ceiling fans, outdoor lighting fixtures, under cabinet lighting and vanity lighting for your bathroom. You name it, they have it. You can also get tips and read lighting-related articles in their resource center.
Offering a seemingly unlimited product selection at the most competitive pricing, I’m assured of an enjoyable shopping experience, regardless of whether I eventually purchase anything. For alternate source of lighting products, I made my comparison over at MyLampSelections.
