After getting my feet wet literally in last Sunday’s Biathlon at Water Fiesta 2009, I was back at the pool for my second biathlon in 6 days! Today, I took part in the biathlon of the H2O Ultimate Challenge. At 400m swim followed by 4km run, this biathlon was shorter compared to last week’s course, but it was all done for a charitable cause as all proceeds will be donated to Jamiyah Children’s home.

This event was held in Nanyang Polytechnic campus which has immaculate swimming facilities and good running route.

Since the flag-offs for biathletes in their respective category were based on wave-start, I’ve completely no idea what my timing was for the race. Based on my timing for last week’s biathlon, I would be happy if my timing was not more than 30mins.

These are the “loot” in the goodie bag all finishers earned from their hardwork.

The official race results for biathlon at Water Fiesta 2009 were released and my timing was 45mins 56secs, finishing the race in 21st positions out of 52 biathletes who completed the race.
Here’s a screenshot of the official results (click on image to enlarge).

After I’ve Experience The Passion of coastal running and ran up and down a “mountain” in May and June respectively, I decided to try a little water play in this month of July.
Last Sunday saw me at the Queenstown swimming complex taking part in the biathlon (750m swim and 5km run) in Water Fiesta 2009. It’s been ages since I last took part in a biathlon during my student days.

I was particularly skeptical about myself for the swim leg and admittedly, didn’t do too well in it. I took too much time in the pool as I would have liked (but luckily not the last swimmer to complete the 15 laps) but managed to made up for lost time in the 5km run, finishing strongly. On a rough estimate, I think I completed the biathlon in 45 – 50mins (Unofficial time). In the end, I was just glad to complete both the swim and the run, and not sink in the pool.
