TMBT 2013 Series: Trail LSD

Busy city folks like us can only make use of the weekends to do our long runs. For family guy like me, weekends are usually reserve for family outings or just chilling with the kids. But with TMBT 2013 less than 10 weeks away, it is time to prioritize training and make some sacrifices on the domestic side. So off to the trail I went early Sunday morning, with an hour commute via the subway to the Central catchment area to put some mileages into those legs!

14 July MR run

I had planned to do a LSD , with time and permissible weather on my side, I eventually managed to put in 23km. With the hill-challenged environment we had here, I only managed about 400m in total elevation. TMBT 2013 accumulated altitude gain is expected to be about 3200m for the 50k ultra, that’s nearly 8 times what I’ve overcame in this run. All these years I’ve been training and running road races, I’ve never bothered about elevation gains. I’m facing a very steep learning curve here, literally and metaphorically! I’m gonna have my work cut out for me!
