The Game Never Ends

“Why do you deserve to meet Wayne Rooney in person?”

This question has been swimming in my head for the last 2 weeks since I was invited to take part in the Tiger Beer regional online influencer challenge.

Wayne rooney

Frankly speaking, I was stumped by this question, I mean, what has one got to do to deserve to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Manchester to visit Old Trafford Stadium and have a kick-about with Wayne Rooney? Yes you heard it right, The Wayne Rooney! The biggest Manchester United fan perhaps? And I’m not gonna kid you by pretending to be the biggest Man United or Wayne Rooney fan, that my room is decked in Man Utd colours, that I sleep in Man Utd perjamas, bedsheet and pillow case and wear Man Utd jersey to work everyday! No, that’s just superficial and doesn’t prove anything!

What I can tell you and I’m proud to say is that I’ve been a fan of English football for over 20 years, started watching “Big League Soccer” when I was a kid, and went on to witness the inception of the Premier League in 1992. I’m a huge fan of the English Premier League who has been served seasons after seasons of world class football actions through the football channel on cable TV, but that is simply an incomplete experience.

Please tell me which self-respecting fan of English football do not want to watch a live Premier League game in action? The Wembley Stadium, Stamford Bridge , Emirates Stadium, Anfield, and Old Trafford, these are the holy grails of football and truly are the theatres of dreams for football fans worldwide. Making a trip to Old Trafford and have a kick-about with Wayne Rooney would definitely be a once in a lifetime experience that not even money can buy!

What has my passion for the English Premier League  got to do with me being wanting to meet Wayne Rooney in person? Well, what I lack in sworn allegiance to Man Utd, I made up for in my fierce passion towards football and the English Premier League in particular. This, I’m sure is the common bond I shared with Tiger Beer and its latest brand ambassador, Wayne Rooney. In a nutshell, we enjoy winning! Rooney epitomized the very best of the Premier League, and it would really be a dream come true if I can play ball with this football genius!

Enjoy Winning

And just to share a Man Utd trivia I picked up online, Man Utd always wins the EPL title after a World Cup! Going back to the record books, Man Utd won the title in 1998/99 (a memorable treble), 2002/03, and in 2006/07. And the new EPL season just got underway at the back of World Cup in South Africa ! Isn’t that exciting!

And assuming I’ve won this blogging challenge and gone on to meet Wayne Rooney in Manchester (let me dream a little, will ya?), what question would you want me to ask him? Come up with your most quirky questions for Rooney and leave them in the comment form. The person who submitted the most interesting question (selected by Tiger Beer judging panel) will win a piece of signed merchandise by Wayne Rooney.

Tweet Your Way To Success

According to a Nielsen Online survey, Twitter grew a whopping 1,382% from February 2008 to February 2009, registering a total of just more than 7 million unique visitors in the US for the month of February 2009.

Since joining Twitter back in January 2008, I had been a lukewarm user at best. Recently, I picked up the Twitter bug again and started following more people, especially local tweeters, and actively engaging in this micro blogging community. Well, I guess I’m making up for lost time.

In less than a month, I made many new friends on Twitter, shared and visited many interesting websites via links on tweets, and were surprise to find some of my tweets and replies being featured on some tweeters’ blogs. Even better, I have reason to believe these exchanges helped contribute to an increased in this blog’s traffic of 43.3% during this short time!

If you are still wondering what this Twitter craze is all about, here’s a video explanation of Twitter in plain English, not in geek speak. Additionally, make sure you equip yourself with some Twitter Terminology in order to stay on top of all the jargon and lingo.

If you haven’t jump on the Twitter bandwagon, hesitate no more, even the Third Reich is on Twitter!

Welcome to the Twitterverse!
