The first-ever Singapore Toy & Comic Convention was held over the weekend (27-29 June 2008). This inaugural event – a platform made by fans for fans - featured a host of toys (general and designer), comics, animation, gaming, design, licensing and Cosplay from creative minds from all over the world, serving up an eye-popping visual feast and unprecedented variety and innovation in all the closely-related industries.
As I had so thoroughly enjoyed myself last year in the Games Convention Asia 2007, I just cannot miss this mouth-watering event with universal appeal of pop-culture and to celebrate with fellow fans our passion for toys, comics, animation, game.
Exhibitors I saw included global players like Hasbro, Ban Dai, LEGO, Animax, DC Comics, and home-grown brands like Dollz Inc and Play Imaginative, to name a few. Join me as I journeyed through this fun-filled event that promised to bring out the best East and West have to offer.

Take a video tour of the event and take in the sights and the sounds.
This video shows a heck of an awesome exhibit any self-respecting Star Wars fans should not miss!
If you think a little too much of a certain kind of distraction was the bane of my blog posting frequency, wait till I laid my hands on this freaking awesome NES coffee table! Yes, it’s really playable.
Short of being the world’s largest NES controller, it is in fact very impressive on its own. I could do with one of this totally!
I’ll be taking a flight to Hong Kong for a short family vacation later this week, so I thought it apt to share with you this online game I’ve been playing.
It’s a flight simulator game where you grab a paper plane with your mouse and fling it as far as you can!
You think throwing a paper plane is child’s play? Try throwing out of the office window first before counting the distance you can reach.
I’ve tried flinging the paper plane many many times but can never surpass the 100m mark. How far a distance did you manage to throw?
It has been a long while since I posted anything meaningful. Initially I thought of apologizing to my readers but on second thought, do I still have any readers left? Save for the occassional EntreCard serial dropper that arrives and exits faster than you can spell D-I-S-T-R-A-C-T-I-O-N-S, I highly doubt anyone cares or bothers about my lack of postings.
For the past couple of weeks, I was tied down with entertaining clients from Japan on business trip here, as well as busy running around planning for a short family vacation next week.
But the main culprit that stole my motivation for blogging was caught on film and publicly shamed here.
These are my “drugs” for my Wii gaming fix!
Were you distracted or have you suffered from “backslide” in your blogging venture? What is or are the cause(s) of your blogging demotivation? How did you rediscover your blogging groove?
During the year-end holiday season of 2007, fans and friends were treated to my movie debut screenings in Holiday Movie Treats, in which several bloggers and yours truly played starring roles as we made a push towards achieving world-wide fame and recognition.
This time round, the fame game venture brought me to a flash video gaming platform whereby games were “created” starring more of my blogging friends. Take a break in whatever you are doing and enjoy these mini games.
Pictogame allows users to express themselves and to communicate with their audiences with its super-simple, super-social and super-customizable interactive widgets. Create mini games starring your own characters with 3 simple clicks of the mouse! It is an easy, free and fun service empowering everyone to become the game creators of tomorrow.
