The 100Plus PAssion Run was back last Sunday and it was my 3rd time to experience the PAssion, and I signed up for the 25km category. It was a dusk-run, and the start-off time at 4.30pm was a real scorcher! It was too damn hot and humid!
Before the runners of 25km were flag-off, the 500m kids dash took place with great fanfare and shouts of encouragement from the parents!
The throngs of runners eagerly anticipating the flag-off for their 25km run.
Here’s me posing with the finisher medal. I took 2hrs 20mins to complete the race.
Here’s a picture of the finisher medal, finisher-Tee, and the race singlet
Let’s take a closer look at the finisher medal, which feels like a key-chain to me!
I have always been fascinated and inspired by men and women who are great orators. I feel they are a special breed that have the in-born special ability to connect with and inspire people, and move communities through their great oratory moments. US Presdent Barack Obama is one such great leader that I admired and respected.
The current hustings of Singapore’s General Election 2011 has unearthed another one such talent of great oratory ability. He is one of the party candidate who is standing in this Election, and is none other than Dr Vincent Wijeysingha of the Singapore Democratic Party.
Recently I joined the ranks of thousands of Hipstamaddicts and Instagrammers and had lots of fun taking photos, sharing photos and viewing exquisite photos shared by the community, all on the iPhone. Ever since I downloaded the apps, I have became more aware of my surroundings, in terms of always on the look out for great photo opportunities.
Posted here are the photos taken in February with these 2 apps.

On the second day of the Chinese New Year, we went to Sentosa for the annual flower show. Sentosa Flowers 2011 is themed “Spring Wonderland” and featured more than 200 types of flowers, plants and trees from around the world. Spanning across the newly-open Boardwalk, Resorts World Sentosa, Merlion Plaza and Imbiah Lookout, Sentosa was transformed into an incredible floral wonderland filled with brilliant colors, textures and sweet scents from the season.
There were throngs of people everywhere, vying for the best spots to take photographs and bring home the memories with them.
As this is the year of the Rabbit, there were many flowers arranged in the shape of rabbit.
The 12 Chinese zodiac animals were also on show.
The rain came in the afternoon, but it did not deter many photo enthusiasts, determined to take that perfect shot!
After experiencing exhilarating Fun at the Peak on the second day of our Genting Highlands vacation, we made a short descend on the third day to visit the Chin Swee Caves Temple. We took a 10-minutes bus ride from the hotel to the temple, which is situated in the most scenic site of Genting Highlands. The unpolluted mountain air and the calmness of the surroundings made the temple such a place of tranquility that I could easily feel the peacefulness of the environment upon reaching the temple.
Within the temple site, there are 2 prominent structures – a nine-storey pagoda and a huge statue of Buddha.
There is a large square named Sky Terrace for visitors and devotees to walk around to enjoy the view. Here’s a shot of the Sky Terrace from the 9th storey of the Pagoda.
There are many traditional figurines and statues of traditional ancient Chinese characters such as ‘the Eight Deities’, the ‘Seven Fairies’ and the three Gods of Fook-Lok-Sou (Luck, Wisdom and Longevity), among many others.
Seen here is the Nine-Colour Dragon Wall of Luck, which stands at the entrance to greet visitors to Chin Swee Caves Temple.
