We would like to update you on the status of AGLOCO’s operations. We continue to believe in the AGLOCO concept, but our revenue is currently not sufficient to give Members a meaningful distribution. And though there are increases in membership, the resulting revenue is not enough to support operating costs. As a development team we are unable to continue to use our savings to fund the operations. With that done, we waited in anticipation for the viewbar to be ready for members to download in order to start accumulating AGLOCO hours, earned while we surf, in exchange for easy riches. We waited, and waited, the official release date got delayed a couple of times. Some members ran out of patience and doubts started appearing in our minds questioning whether AGLOCO is for real. These ghost were laid to rest when we received an update in June informing us the all clear to download the by now infamous viewbar.

Since you signed up with AGLOCO, our community has continued to grow even larger, stronger, and more active. Fast forward to present time, a good 5 months since the viewbar went live, no one got paid a dime (at least never heard of it being reported) and now, it was pronounced DEAD!! The signs were omnipresent, signs that all were not right, it was heading for gloom right from the beginning. It was a wrecked relationship from start to finish.

Lesson learnt
If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I wouldn’t go so far as to say AGLOCO is a scam or a get-rich-quick scheme. In my opinion, it was a good idea, just managed and excuted poorly. Luckily, we didn’t lose anything other than some dash hopes of making money while doing our favourite activity. I’m sure there are people out there who had invested some money to build their network, hoping an expanded referral network will “work” that much for them, and earn them Internet riches. I feel sorry if you are one of them and hope you take it as school fee for a lesson well-learnt.

I am of course referring to Games Convention Asia (GCA) 2007, which is being held at Suntec City, Singapore, from 6 – 9 September. Join me to see some “sights” and hear some “sounds” of this great gaming convention!

One of the high profile global event taking place on 07.07.07 is Live Earth. Live Earth, if you haven’t already heard(you must have been on Mars the past 3 months?), is a 24-hour, 7-continents concert series taking place on 07.07.07 that will bring together more than 100 music artists and 2 billion people to trigger a global movement to solve the climate crisis.

Live Earth will stage official concerts at Giants Stadium in New York; Wembley Stadium in London(1.30pm); Aussie Stadium in Sydney(11am); Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro; Maropeng at the Cradle of Humankind in Johannesburg(6pm); Makuhari Messe in Tokyo(12pm); the Steps of the Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai(7pm); and HSH Nordbank Arena in Hamburg(2pm). All timing shown are local time and subjected to change.

Being “Friends of Live Earth” campaign, Singapore is hosting Earth Fest to trigger mass movements at the local level to combat the growing climate crisis. Besides being a mass Open Air Telecast Screening of “Live Earth” Concerts, Earth Fest will feature many activities to promote environmental awareness. Screening of telecast will be from 7 pm(Singapore time) Saturday 07.07.07 until 7 pm Sunday.

Climate change is a serious problem that affects all of humanity. There is strong evidence that human emissions of greenhouse gases are changing the world’s climate. The main greenhouse gas is carbon dioxide (CO2), produced when we burn fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas for energy.

The battle against global warming and climate change cannot be won by the actions of the Governments and businesses alone. Every individual human being must be aware of the dire straits and be infulenced by the urgency of the problem and we must be prepared to make sacrifices and adjustments to our lifestyles, our values and our attitude towards nature and Mother Earth.

Answer the call, make a difference, save Mother Earth, give our children a future.

If your e-mail service provider does not provide a spam checker, you can head over to The Programmers Heaven SPAM analysis tool which will runs your message through SPAM checkers – Spam Assassin and Spam Bayes – to see if they might detect it as SPAM.

SpamAssassin tests emails against a large set of rules, which include checking for malformed headers, words that commonly appear in SPAM, whether the sender is on a black list and more. Each rule is assigned a score and if the email scores enough points it is considered to be SPAM. For more information, see the SpamAssassin homepage and FAQ.

SpamBayes works by looking at the each word that appears in the email and looking for an associated word score. The word score is a number associated with each word in the SPAMBayes database and ranges between 0 and 1. A score of or close to 0 implies that the email the word appears in is likely to be HAM(good, non-spam email), while a higher score, closer to 1, implies that the email the word appears in is likely to be SPAM. By looking at the scores of words in the email overall, the email can be classified as SPAM or HAM. For more information, see the SpamBayes homepage and FAQ.

To test your email, simply copy and paste the text or HTML of the message you want to send into the text box provided, enter your own email address and also the Subject title. Next Select which SPAM filters you would like to test your email against by checking on the box next to the filter name. You can select one or both.

Then click on the “Test My Email” button and you are on your way to knowing whether you have on hand an email with lots of evil spammy words which will very likely end up in the Spam mailbox, or yours is a legit friendly message from the boy/girl next door!

If you are planning to do email marketing to promote your blog and worried all your effort might be wasted by being block by spam filter, then you should seriously consider making this free web base spam checker your #1 webtool.
