Big Walk @ Marina Bay 2010

The New Paper Big Walk was back again after the last “Big Walk On Water” held 2 years ago. This year’s Big Walk was part of the Big Carnival at Marina Bay to celebrate the official opening of the Marina Bay waterfront promenade.

Big Walk 2010 was flagged off in front of the F1 Pit Building and took participants past the Bayfront Bridge which is barely three months old. The Bayfront Bridge was built to link Marina Centre and the new Integrated Resorts Marina Bay Sands. And just alongside the bridge is the iconic Helix Bridge which you can see in the video.

Without knowing it, we have completed The New Paper Big Walk @ Marina Bay 2010. It was a very short course, but designed to showcase the many iconic buildings in the new Marina Bay area.

end point

Although the walk was over but there were plenty of things to see and do at the Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade where an exciting carnival awaits.

With the new waterfront promenade officially opened and now fully accessible to the public, the Big Carnival@Marina Bay was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to experience the Bay by the water’s edge and appreciate Marina Bay as a new leisure destination in the city.

Universal Studios Singapore: First Ride

USS Globe

After the sneak preview in February, Universal Studios Singapore was officially Soft Open on March 18th at 8:28 am amid much fanfare.

Lucky me was able to try out some of the rides and watch a live stun show “Water World” a few days before the soft opening.

This first video is a walkabout in the theme park where I walked through the Far Far Away Castle from the world of Shrek, explored The Lost World of Jurassic Park and ended in the world’s tallest duelling roller coasters – Battlestar Galactica. Join me as I take in the sights and sounds and practically soaked myself in the fantastic atmosphere of Asia’s first Universal Studios theme park.

Join me in this next video as I soared above The Lost World with my videocam and enjoy a prehistoric bird’s-eye view of Jurassic Park.

Made to Entertain

I have been a football fan for over 20 years and has seen my fair share of football related TV commercials. But this high-budget guerrilla marketing campaign from Heineken which involved 1,100 AC Milan fans swindled by their girlfriends, professors and bosses into missing the UEFA Champions League game between Real Madrid and AC Milan for a fake poetry-reading and classical music event, tops them all.

It was bloody clever marketing and suffice to say, generated plenty of news coverage and viral effect to the max. As far as what happens in the video, I’ll leave you to discover and enjoy it.

Super Bowl 2010 Commercials

The Super Bowl has always been the most-watched American television broadcast and the recently concluded Super Bowl 2010 XLIV was no different. This annual NFL Championship playoff has always been remembered as much for its on-field actions as the commercials. With an average US audience of 106.5 million viewers, you can be sure the advertisers will pull out all the stops in their 30-60 seconds commercials.

Many of the commercials in Super Bowl 2010 were of very high quality and here I’ve listed a few notable ones which I find attention-grabbing.

Coke: Sleep Walker

This commercial does not have any human dialog but apparently, action speaks louder than words.

Audi Green Police

Audi played on the current hot-potato issue of global warming and the virtues of being environmentally responsible citizen. Very clever!

CareerBuilders.com: Casual Fridays

The CareerBuilders.com commercials never fail to amaze me and this edition did not disappoint either.

Budlight: Stranded

Budlight is back again and this commercial – a parody on the TV series LOST – cracked me up! In true Homer Simpson style: Beer truly is the cause of — and solution to — all of life’s problems!

Budweiser: Bridge Out

This Budweiser commercial also scored high points with me and will endeared itself to many beer lovers.

E*Trade: Baby Girlfriend

The E*Trade baby series continue with another winner.

Google: Parisan Love

This Google commercial looks the simplest to execute as it was basically a screencast of Google searches of a traveler in Paris. For the uninitiated, it may seem like a commercial promoting Paris.

And last but not least, the NFL pays tribute to the fans with this commercial.

NFL: Best Fans on the Planet

So which is/are your favorite Super Bowl Commercial(s) for 2010?
